Studies show that inclusion of people with different backgrounds and racial makeups benefit everyone - minority and majority groups alike. Building a socially diverse community results in a generation of more unique and innovative ideas, spurring creativity. The architecture profession should actively strive for the enrichment of the field by engaging with diverse pools of contributors and ideas.

Over the past three years, Beyond the Built Environment has established the SAY IT LOUD exhibitions as a traveling activation. Uniquely positioned to provide spotlight on women and diverse designers, as well as their impacts on the architecture and design professions and the community at large. These individuals have blazed a trail that is seldom the subject of wide acclaim. This initiative acknowledges the great work and accomplishments of these talented architects, designers, planners, professors, city officials, students and engineers.
