Refuse // Repose

Andrew Economos Miller's "Refuse//Repose," will sift through a pile of reference, found material, and theoretical propositions that deal with architecture's contemporary organization of labor and its relationship to various natures and larger social and economic systems. The exhibition will be organized around the tripartite division of "Labor, Waste, and Action," in order to deal with its broad themes.

Andrew Economos Miller is a designer and educator who uses the trash pile as a tool for the deconstruction of architecture as an imperial labor form. They are interested in heterogeneous materiality and the intentional demolition and reconstruction of the built environment toward new ends. Their writing has been published in Disc, Log, and Paprika! and their work has been featured in exhibitions at A83, Kent State University, and the Yale School of Architecture North Gallery. They received their Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Ohio State University and a Master of Architecture from the Yale School of Architecture. They have worked professionally in New York City and Columbus, Ohio as an architectural designer and editor. They were the 2022-2023 Schidlowski Emerging Faculty Fellow at Kent State University where they are used trash as pedagogy and worked on the Refuse//Repose Exhibition.
